She is protecting her brave couple.
Breasts that hang low — that wobble to and fro — just won’t cut it for the new mom who refuses to breastfeed her infant son for fear of sagging breasts.
“The selfish reasons I didn’t breastfeed,” mom Rebecca Gallivan wrote in the closed caption of her viral TikTok story. “I didn’t want my breasts to sag or look any different than they did before I got pregnant.
The brunette mother-of-one from the UK admitted that the mere thought of feeding her baby breast milk was confusing.
“It made me feel weird and uncomfortable,” the content creator told more than 380,000 viewers. “The thought of it felt so unnatural even though it was the most natural thing.
“It embarrassed me.â€
But the benefits of breastfeeding are enormous.
Researchers from Michigan State University recently determined that breast milk – which is rich in vitamins, minerals and antibodies – can reduce the risk of obesity in children.
The nutrient-packed nectar also helps minimize the threat of asthma, type 1 diabetes and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
The benefits of breast milk are so great that mothers like Ice-T’s wife Coco Austin, 45, have continued to breastfeed well beyond infancy.
“Chanel still likes my breasts,” Austin previously said in defense of her decision to breastfeed her daughter, then 5.
“Why take that away from him?” asked the Playboy pinup, calling her milk “a snack.”
“If she doesn’t want it, fine, that’s where you stop it,” Austin said. “But I won’t just say no.”
Gallivan, however, has no problem saying no to breastfeeding, and internet trolls have a problem with that.
“To care more about the shape of your breasts than the health of your child is outrageous to me. Don’t have children if you can’t make sacrifices for them. Especially not vain and superficial, – scolded a savage of social networks
“Selfish,” wrote an equally disapproving critic.
“It takes a strong woman to breastfeed. Some women never get the chance to. It’s a sacrifice, but I would do it all again for my child,” said another.
“I have [breastfed] all 4 of my babies and more, it’s tiring and exhausting, but I personally feel like a failure if I’m not using my body for what it was created for,” said one particular mother.
“Breastfeeding doesn’t make your breasts sag, but pregnancy does,” noted another.
“That poor baby,” said one well-wisher.
But Gallivan reassured concerned critics that her “poor baby” is doing well.
“Just your daily reminder that breastfeeding doesn’t exist [equal] a good mom,” she wrote in a follow-up post, showing off her bundle of joy.
“My poor child” is the healthiest and happiest little boy.
