Taco Bell is giving loyal customers the whole enchilada.
The fast food franchise has unveiled an “early retirement community” for Rewards Members that comes complete with hookah classes, pickleball classes and poolside cocktails.
Cantinas, located in sunny San Diego, will host a crowd of Taco Bell’s biggest fans for the two-day senior-inspired experience next weekend, August 17-18.
Cantinas is a weekend-only promotional exercise for the food giant and won’t serve as a permanent benefit for Rewards Members – but speaks to the growing popularity of activities loved by seniors.
“More than just a weekend getaway, it’s a chance to embrace and promote the slow lifestyle of youth culture, the lifestyle of seniors,” said a press release from the company. “Wake up early in the morning, take friends for gymnastics, pass the time with crochet classes, arts and crafts and pickle it all before going to bed at 8pm after an early bird dinner. “
Taco Bell Rewards members called to get a coveted spot at The Cantinas, with the brand paying $150 for a “weekend membership” that includes overnight lodging and dining.
Other fast food fanatics shelled out $50 for a day pass, which gives you access to activities.
Rewards Members over the age of 21 were eligible to enter, with all available tickets selling out in just three minutes.
Taco Bell fans rejoiced at the news, taking to a Reddit thread to share their excitement before tickets went on sale.
“I’ve been going to Taco Bell an average of 9 times a week for about two years now. So excited to live an hour from this Cantina event,” wrote one. “Hopefully I’ll find a place.”
However, another was sad that the location was too far from home.
“I was so happy reading about it until I found out it was only going to be one location and it wasn’t in my area,” they said. “Now I’m sad.”
